Annually, Steamboat organizes its distinctive closing day affair where participants race downhill and aim to glide across a pond, marking the end of the 2023-24 ski season. This traditional pond skimming contest, held as part of the Springalicious week of festivities, promises entertainment and laughter as spectators witness daring attempts and amusing costumes. Scheduled for Sunday, April 14th, 2024, the event will take place at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort, near Gondola Square, offering a fitting farewell to the winter months.
