Beginning Sunday, September 8, 2025, Westminster's Butterfly Pavilion will open a new exhibit featuring Rosie the tarantula, marking her retirement from the spider-handling program. If you want to see the spider who once strutted into classrooms and demonstrations, she'll be on display in a more low-key role.

Rosie has traded being passed around for a quieter life but remains very much an educational ambassador, still capable of sparking curiosity about arachnids. Think of it as retirement with a purpose: less show-and-tell, more teach-and-chill.
