Starting Sunday, September 8, 2025, Westminster's Butterfly Pavilion will host a special retrospective exhibit for Rosie the tarantula, marking her retirement from the spider handling program. After years of being passed around for demos, Rosie is settling into a less hectic routine and a new display that lets visitors observe her without any theatrical glove work.

Rosie has been the Pavilion's unofficial ambassador for arachnid curiosity, coaxing plenty of people to replace reflexive squeals with questions. The exhibit is a low-key way to see her up close, pick up a few surprising tarantula facts, and salute an animal that quietly taught a lot of humans not to fear eight-legged neighbors.
