If your kid has got energy to burn and you're looking for something more exciting than the usual screen time, Denver City's got you covered. The local rec department is putting together weekly games of basketball, kickball, and flag football where kids can run around, make a bit of a mess, and maybe even learn what teamwork means without it sounding like a boring lecture. It's pretty casual, doesn't cost much if anything, and is open to all levels – from future pros to those still figuring out which way to run.

Parents are absolutely encouraged to hang out on the sidelines, cheer, or offer the classic "good job" while secretly hoping the coach doesn't call on them to ref. It's basically a chance for the kids to stay busy, have fun, and for grown-ups to enjoy some fresh air without having to organise a full-blown Olympics in the backyard.
