Steamboat is gearing up for its 42nd annual rite of spring, inviting everyone to partake in the excitement of the Cardboard Classic. This creative and entertaining event bids farewell to winter in a humorous manner while embracing the return of warmer weather. Participants are encouraged to showcase their artistic flair by crafting their own cardboard creations for the race, utilizing materials such as duct tape, markers, balloons, and more to customize their rides. The downhill race, filled with laughter and camaraderie, will kick off on Saturday, April 13th, 2024, at the base of Steamboat Ski Resort in Gondola Square, starting at 9 am and concluding with an awards ceremony two hours later. With various categories including "Most Creative" and "Best Costumes," there's ample opportunity for participants and groups to showcase their talents and creativity.
