The Mile High City annually pays tribute to civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr. with a significant celebration in January, marking one of the most prominent MLK Jr. Day events in the nation, even surpassing Washington, D.C.'s festivities. The event, scheduled for Monday, January 15, 2024, begins with an opening ceremony at City Park at 9:30 a.m., followed by the Marade step-off at 10:45 a.m. A closing ceremony and resource fair take place at Civic Center, concluding with the Dr. King Legacy Bike Ride from noon to 1 p.m., featuring entertainment, awards, and jubilation.
