United flight 629 exploded over Firestone, Colorado, on November 1, 1955, leaving 44 victims without a memorial marker. On August 3, 2024, the Flight 629 Memorial will hold its first fundraiser at The Rialto Theater, featuring performances by Christine Alice and The Canyon Echoes. The goal is to have a memorial installed near the original crash site by November 1, 2025, marking the 70th anniversary of the tragedy. Support this long overdue effort by purchasing a $30 ticket and attending the show.
